BTC 110 - Biotechnology and SocietyPrerequisite: MAT 090 , MAT 095 , or appropriate score on the placement test; AND RDG 095 or appropriate score on the placement test. (3 Credits) This course introduces the scientific methods and applications of biotechnology while emphasizing impacts on society. Ethical, social, political, legal, economic and historical implications will be discussed while utilizing current topics such as cloning, stem cells, genetically modified organisms, and gene therapy. * Diversity Approved General Education Course. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
