ART 240 - Visual Art Capstone Experience and Portfolio ReviewPrerequisite: ART 102 ; AND any one of the following: ART 203 , ART 204 , ART 215 , ART 220 , ART 222 , or ART 223 . (2 Credits) This course provides the Visual Arts major individualized, in-depth study within a specific studio area under the guidance of an art faculty member, and the opportunity to demonstrate that they have achieved the learning outcomes of the Visual Arts Concentration. Students will create a portfolio of work that will be exhibited at the end of the semester in the Student Art Exhibition and presented to a panel of three faculty members during a Final Portfolio Review. During the Final Portfolio Review students will present their final work and selected works from their foundation core classes in a presentation aimed to show that they have achieved advanced understanding of the medium they are studying and are able to articulate how their work fits within their professional field. Students must earn a passing score in the Final Portfolio Review in order to complete the AA in Visual Arts program. It is recommended that students complete this course in their final semester. Total of 40 hours of lecture.
