JPN 101 - Elementary Japanese IPrerequisite: RDG 095 or appropriate score on the placement test.

This introductory course in Japanese language and culture focuses on the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while also inviting students to explore the culture of Japanese-speaking people. Elementary Japanese I provides learners with an extensive vocabulary base, an understanding of language structures in Japanese, and a setting in which to use the target language in simulated everyday exchanges. Students are equipped and encouraged to practice the language both inside and outside of the classroom. * Art/Humanities Approved General Education Course. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
