MAT 095 - Foundations of Reasoning & StatisticsPrerequisite: Appropriate score on the placement test. (3 Credits) This is a preparatory course intended for students requiring/desiring a reasoning intensive general studies mathematics course. Critical thinking skills are developed through the study of experimental design and data collection, graphical representations of data, games and puzzles, relationships of bivariate data (linear, logarithmic, and exponential), and introductory probability. Terms, symbols, and basic operations of logic, set, graph, and voting theories are also introduced. This course is designed to prepare students for MAT 109 or MAT 115 . Total of 45 hours of lecture.
