PHL 103 - Ethics (3 Credits) Would you sacrifice one innocent person to save a hundred lives? Is there any single moral law that applies to every person in every situation? In this course, we will investigate major ethical theories and how those theories may apply to our personal and professional situations. Through reading, discussion, and reflection, we will tackle contemporary ethical issues like climate change, euthanasia, genetic engineering, sports doping, extreme poverty, animal ethics, abortion, vaccine mandates, gender issues, and the death penalty. * Art/Humanities Approved General Education Course. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
Semesters Offered: Fall and Spring Only, As Needed.
