MAT 109 - StatisticsPrerequisite: MAT 095 or appropriate scores on the placement test; AND RDG 095 or appropriate scores on the placement test. (3 Credits) This is a college-level mathematics course consisting of the study of statistics for analysis and decision making. The areas of data (collection, representation, and exploration), probability (counting, basic, combined, and conditional events), probability distributions (Binomial, Poisson, Normal, Student’s t, and Chi-Square), sampling distributions (central limit theorem, mean, and proportion), confidence interval estimation (mean, proportion, and standard deviation), and hypothesis testing (one and two sample mean and proportion, dependent means, and Goodness-of-Fit) are covered through the consideration of real world data sets and applications from business, education, social and natural sciences contexts. * Mathematics Approved General Education Course. Varying digital textbook access fee included. Total of 45 contact hours.
