EGT 136 - MechanicsPrerequisite: MAT 114 or MAT 161 . Corequisite: PHY 201 . (3 Credits) This course introduces the concepts of engineering based on forces in equilibrium. The topics include concentrated forces, distributed forces, forces due to friction, trusses, frames, centroids, and moment of inertia as they apply to machines, and structures and systems. A working knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, vectors and free body diagrams are essential.
Course fee required. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
