BIO 117 - Environmental SciencePrerequisite: ENG 100 , RDG 095 , or appropriate score on the placement test. (4 Credits) This is a lecture/discussion/lab course which explores environmental topics in Environmental Science such as sustainability, biogeochemical cycles, ecosystems, environmental economics, human population, sustainable agriculture, conservation, environmental health, water pollution, atmospheric pollution, global climate change, renewable and non-renewable energy and sustainable cities. This course may be offered in the traditional lecture, or online and/or blended format (online lecture with on-campus labs). Online students will be required to come to campus for a minimum of 2 exams (given in the Testing Center); Online students are responsible for your own learning and for meeting all course requirements on schedule. * Biological/Physical Science and Lab Approved General Education Course. Laboratory fee required. Total of 45 hours of lecture and 45 hours of lab.
