The graphic design technology certificate consists of specialized courses. It has two basic goals: first, to upgrade the job performance of the working graphic designer, and second, to initiate the professional career development of those entering the graphic design field. A one-year certificate program provides for formal academic preparation without loss of credit if an associate of applied science degree is desired. This degree may be completed entirely online. However, please keep in mind that several exams will need to be taken in a supervised setting and that students must attend, in person, an evening orientation for each course.
