The general studies option is for students who are undecided about a career choice and wish to explore several different areas or who wish flexibility in the selection of courses for transfer to four-year institutions or for specific employment needs. Students must work with an academic advisor to assure that their educational goals are met.

Arts/Humanities

Select two courses in different disciplines from approved General Education course list (6 Credits)

Behavioral/Social Sciences

Select two courses in different disciplines from approved General Education course list (6 Credits)

Biological/Physical Science

Select two courses from approved General Education course list —one must be a laboratory course (7-8 Credits)

ENG 101 - English Composition (3 Credits)
ENG 102 - Composition and Literature (3 Credits)

Information Literacy

IST 102 - Introduction to Information Technology (3 Credits)
OR
GDT 112 - Computer Graphics (3 Credits)

Mathematics

MAT 101 - College Algebra (3 Credits)

Another MAT course from approved list (3-4 Credits)
