Solar Energy Installation and Service, Alternative Energy Technology, Certificate

This program is suspended and not enrolling new students as of February 2025.
The Solar Energy Installation and Service Certificate program is designated as a Statewide Program; therefore, some residents of Maryland enrolled in this program of study on the first day of the term may be eligible for in-county tuition rates for courses required for program completion. Students completing the Solar Energy Installation and Service Certificate program will have the skills to enter an entry-level or apprentice-level position in the field of photovoltaic and installation and service.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate the necessary skills to enter an entry level position as a photovoltaic installer.
- Recognize standard safety procedures in the workplace.
- Recognize the necessary skills to effectively communicate with clients and coworkers.
- Perform basic electrical calculations.
