The transfer program in human services is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution and major in social work. In recent years, students have transferred successfully to Hood College, Shepherd University, Shippensburg University, Salisbury University, and University System of Maryland at Hagerstown. This program has articulation agreements with Shepherd University and Salisbury University. Students should always confer with advisors and transferring institutions for specific requirements that should be completed at HCC prior to completion.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will graduate prepared to transfer to a BSW program.
- Students will be able to apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be a professional helper.
- Students will effectively communicate orally and in written reports.
- Students will use critical thinking to analyze client needs and problems to find appropriate interventions.
- Students will effectively match the needs of clients to available community resources.
- Students will provide services in a culturally competent manner.
