2021-2022 Catalog [ARCHIVED CATALOG]
Advanced Manufacturing Systems, A.A.S.
The combination of mechanical, electrical, and electronic skillset is in great demand at start-of-the-art manufacturers today. This combination of disciplines is also known as mechatronics. The Advanced Manufacturing Systems (AMS) program provides a sequence of technical and manufacturing courses for students who are currently in, or plan to enter, today’s advanced manufacturing environment where multi-skilled workers are in high demand. This A.A.S. program is a career degree, preparing students for the workforce after graduation. However, students can opt to transfer to a four-year program rather than start a career, but should confer with advisors and transferring institutions for specific requirements.
The Industrial Technology, Certificate is a stack-able credential that is completely compatible with this program. The Electronics Technician, Certificate (ETC) is also a stack-able credential towards this program. The ETC does include one course (ELE 101 ), however, which is not required for the AMS program.
