SDV 101 - Strategies for Academic Success (3 Credits) By using problem-solving as a method of developing study habits, active learning proficiencies, and critical thinking skills that contribute to academic success in college level courses, this course challenges students to realize their potential and develop a motivated and proactive approach to their education and basic learning habits. Topics include personal and academic goal setting, stress and time management, listening and note-taking skills, learning preferences, core communication and comprehension skills, and basic career preparation. Weekly visits to the Learning Support Center are required. Total of 45 contact hours.
