ART 113 - Digital Painting and Drawing I
(3 Credits)
This course provides students with a foundational experience in the contemporary fine art practice of digital image making. Students will learn the skills and practices of digital image making through hands-on experiences with the tools and programs used by professional digital artists. The skills taught in this class are directly applicable to a wide variety of creative fields, including illustration, concept art for film, television, video games, product design, and advertising. Additional topics addressed include the relationship between digital and traditional image making practices, and the evolution of digital painting/drawing as a distinct medium unto itself. Students will produce a portfolio of work. Total of 60 hours of lecture.
Semesters Offered: Fall and Spring Only, All Years.
