NUR 229 - Nursing Care of the Acute and Chronically Ill Adult IPrerequisite: BIO 204 and NUR 105 (4 Credits) This course prepares the student to acquire the advanced knowledge and skills needed to provide care to adults with acute and chronic alterations in wellness. Emphasis will be placed on use of the nursing process when providing care to clients with acute and chronic medical-surgical issues. Clinical practice occurs in a variety of acute and community based settings. A minimum exam grade average of 75% and a minimum overall course grade of 75% must be achieved to progress in the nursing program. A grade of 90% or above must be attained on a dosage calculations exam in this course. Total of 40 hours of lecture, 3 hours of laboratory, 15 hours of simulation exercises, and 55 hours of clinical.
Semesters Offered: Fall and Spring Only, All Years.
