RAD 109 - Patient Care for RadiographersPrerequisite: Acceptance into the Radiography program. (3 Credits) Content provides the concepts of optimal patient care, pharmacology, venipuncture and administration of contrast agents and IV medications, including considerations for the physical and psychological needs of the patient and family. Routine and emergency patient care procedures are described, as well as infection control procedures using standard precautions. The role of the radiographer in patient education is identified. Laboratory fee required. Total of 30 hours of lecture and 45 hours of laboratory.
