DNC 118 - Modern Dance I (2 Credits) Beginning Modern is an introduction to American modern dance technique and terminology. The class will incorporate modern dance techniques, floor work, stretches, breath support, body alignment, and improvisational exercises in which students can explore creating their own choreography. Students will also develop critical thinking skills through analyzing outside dance performances. There will be performance opportunities during the semester and students will develop the skills required for dance and/or theatrical productions. Course fee required. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
