MUS 241 - Theory of Music IIIPrerequisite: MUS 202 or instructor consent. (3 Credits) This course is a continuation of the music theory sequence. Building upon the concepts and skills learned in Theory of Music II, this course will further reinforce the student’s counterpoint and analysis skills with an emphasis on chromatic harmony, including secondary and substitute dominants; borrowed chords and modal mixture; chromatic mediants; Neapolitan and augmented sixth chords; 9th, 11th and 13th chords and extended tertian harmony. Total of 45 hours of lecture.
