ENV 204 - Public Health and the EnvironmentPrerequisite: ELL 101 or ENG 101 . (3 Credits) This course explores the interaction between human health and aspects of environmental degradation, including, but not limited to air pollution, water pollution, toxic chemicals, and climate change. This course will incorporate traditional lecture, discussion, and case study analysis as students learn about current key topics in environmental health and how to critique and understand scientific studies. Case studies will include analysis of known environmental health disasters, links between climate change and health, and exploration of the scientific evidence on environmental health. (BIO 113 recommended but not required). Total of 45 hours of lecture.
