This course is designed to give the student an introduction to the topic of quality management in the health care environment. Focus is placed on developing analytical skills for performance improvement and utilization review activities. This course presents quality assurance in various health care facilities, including quality assessment techniques, utilization management, risk management, peer review requirements, credentialing, and medical staff services as it relates to health information management. Total of 45 contact hours.
